Living Centered: Pause

Living Centered: Pause

Hi everyone πŸ‘‹

Welcome to the 12th edition of the Living Centered Newsletter! Thank you for subscribing 😊

September is a time of transition for us all. Summer days are winding down, school schedules are picking up, and we start thinking of all those things we enjoy about the fall.

This season in the Lamb home is no exception. My work continues to keep me busy, the kids are going back to school, and my wife is starting a new job. Busy days indeed!

With all this transition happening in our home, I have decided to take a short break from writing this newsletter. I am simply going to put things on pause for the next few weeks. I thoroughly enjoy engaging with all of you, so this isn't goodbye. This will simply be some time for me to prioritize my family as we move into this next season. I plan to continue to write daily, so I may share some thoughts or a quote with you all from time to time.

For this edition of the newsletter, I want to share the importance of rest and taking a break. I pulled an essay from the archives that is quite applicable.

Let's get to it.

Quote

Whether it's a vacation or an afternoon off, taking a break will help you recharge. Β

When was the last time you unplugged? Β

β€œAlmost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you.” - Anne Lamott

Essay

Resting well is a skill to develop. Like all good things in life, we need to put in the work to ensure the outcome of our rest is successful.

When we rest, our mind gets time to recharge and re-frame the challenges we are dealing with. When we give our minds a break from certain thoughts, we can return to those thoughts with greater clarity.

The goal is to step away so when we come back, we are fully engaged from a place of abundance.

The Anatomy of Rest
Rest isn’t just sleeping - it’s mental breaks. We all need them. A day off to recharge, an hour to read a book, and time to step away. Once we step away, we can re-engage from a place of abundance.

Thank you for reading! I truly appreciate you taking the time.

Don't hesitate to reach out over the next month. I will still be writing daily and active on social media. I look forward to re-engaging with you all on the other side.

If you have someone in mind who would enjoy this, feel free to forward it to them.

Until next time,

Mike
