My Reflection: 30 Days of Ship 30 for 30
Hard to believe I finally made it to 30 days of Ship 30 for 30. This time has been exciting, fun, and has caused a tremendous amount of growth in me. As I look back on these last 30 days, I asked myself: what have I learned? This is my reflection on Ship 30 for 30.
On January 2nd, I created my Twitter account. I've published 30 Atomic Essays and sent a total of 328 Tweets with these stats:
- 48.7k impressions.
- 4,569 profile visits.
- 144 mentions.
- Grown from 1 to 77 followers.
Here is what I've learned over these 30 days:
Foundational writing skills: I hadn't published a single article before Ship 30. Now I have built a foundation of writing knowledge. The benefits of these writing skills have been leaking over into other areas of my life. Writing has become a part of what I do, not what I have to do to ship 30 essays.
Content to build from: before starting Ship 30, I worked for 4 months to write 1 blog post - never published it. In 30 days of Ship 30, I've published original content to build from and it's written in my own, unique voice. It may be different than others, but I've learned to write what I enjoy and what I am interested in.
Show up to publish & iterate: shipping 30 days straight is a lot of work. It's tiring and sometimes you feel like giving up - but I wouldn't trade these last 30 days for anything. The push to be consistent has been life-giving, invigorating, and fun.
Meet like-minded people: I have developed great friendships during this time. I wasn't sure if I would fit in or if I could even get to know strangers on the Internet, but the community of writers in Ship 30 has been amazing! I've met great people along the way and we have encouraged each other to continue to ship.
Ship 30 for 30 has been amazing! It has been the catalyst for me to start writing. I highly recommend it to anyone who is serious about writing, producing their own content, and wanting to sharpen their thinking.
For me, the next step is to move over to the Compound writing community to continue to develop my writing skills. I am very excited about joining them to build on what I've done in Ship 30.
To everyone who has joined me on this Ship 30 journey: it has been a pleasure to meet you and I look forward to us continuing to build together.
Let's see what the next 30 days hold for us!
